Following a their massive performance in Cuba this past spring, The Rolling Stones hit the studio to record tracks for their first new studio album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. As guitarist Ronnie Wood confirmed in an April interview with the Associated Press, “We went in to cut some new songs, which we did, but we got on a blues streak. We cut 11 blues [songs] in two days. They are extremely great cover versions of Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter, among other blues people. But they really sound authentic.”While the Stones will head to Indio, CA for the first weekend of Desert Trip this Friday, it seems that playing the super-fest is not the only thing the band has in store for fans this week: Earlier today, the band posted a teaser video for the upcoming “blues-themed” new album, with the caption “Coming October 6th.” Whether this refers to the album’s release, or the reveal of its release date remains to be seen. Check out the video below:In addition to the teaser video (which references British Grove Studios in Chiswick, London and gives a brief taste of the new album’s blues sound), the band has changed the photos on their social media pages to a blue version of their iconic lips-and-tongu logo in preparation for the release.We can’t wait to see what the Rolling Stones have in store for us on Thursday!
