Energy Efficient work being done in the Peace

first_img*    $193,154 for the installation of LED exit signs, variable airvolume controls of kitchen exhaust fans, a new building automationsystem with ventilation controls, new domestic hot water heaters, andnew boilers;*    $190,597 for the installation of a summer boiler and acondensing boiler for domestic hot water, a heat recovery loop for theHVAC system, heat recovery ventilation and ventilation control for thebuilding automation system, variable air ventilation controls for thekitchen exhaust, and lighting retrofits for the Fort Nelson Hospital;and*    $30,300 for the installation of photo cells to control lighting,building automation systems and addition of ventilation control, and acondensing hot water system for the Hudson’s Hope Health Centre. This summer, Peace River communities will see work start up on more than $700,000 in new energy-efficiency retrofits throughout the Peace River region. “These projects are creating jobs in construction in communities throughout the region,” says Lekstrom.  “They will boost local economies, and save money by increasing energy efficiency in public buildings.”A total of 5 projects in the BC Peace will be completed.  These retrofits are part of the second round of projects funded under Budget 2008 and the Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement (PSECA), which states that 50 per cent of B.C.’s future power will be met through conservation.
